- When you find a property you wish to buy, you must pay to us a preliminary deposit that we pass to the vendor, this shows your intention to buy, and means we will not show the property to other potential purchasers
- You must open a bank account for transfers of monies for your intended purchase, this can be done quite quickly during the working week.
- You must apply for a “codice fiscale” this is similar to a UK National Insurance number, again this is a simple process which can be done either in Italy or back home in the UK.
- Once you have these things in place, the rest of the process is very simple and straight forward, unlike the UK. The searches normally only take a few days to do, and once you are satisfied with these and are happy to proceed you will then sign a “Compremesso” (or contract) and pay 30% of the purchase price, the balance is paid on completion in the Notaio’s office. The Notaio is the equivalent to a solicitor at home, they work on behalf of both vendor and the purchaser
And that’s it, you will then own your Building Plot or Dream Home in Puglia!
